SCITT Funding

SCITT tuition fees for 2026/2027 are £9,535.

Most trainee teachers choose to pay their fees via Student Finance England (SFE) however if you are using private funding, your tuition fees will be invoiced and are payable in instalments at the beginning of each term.

An administration fee of £200 is payable at the start of the programme which covers your DBS, Occupational Health (Fitness to Teach), NASBTT membership, Virtual Learning Environment, books and starter pack.

Student Finance England

You can apply for a tuition fee loan and other loans for your teacher training through SFE from the government who will pay the tuition fees to us on your behalf. Most students will not have to pay anything upfront. Tuition fee loans are not means tested and are paid directly to your provider by SFE. As a loan they are repayable, but not until you are in employment and earning above a certain amount.

Maintenance Loan

You may also be eligible for a maintenance loan to help with living costs. Maintenance loans are partly means-tested and the amount you could receive depends on where you live, study and your household income. Maintenance loans are paid directly to you.

You can apply for a tuition fee loan and a maintenance loan if you already have a student loan.

Applications for finance for 26/27 will open in March/April 2026. To access more information on what funding may be available to you, please click here.

Additional Funding

If you are a parent, have an adult dependant or a disability there may be some extra financial support available to you:

Once you have accepted your place with us, you can apply for Parents’ Learning Allowance, Disabled Students’ Allowance and Adult Dependants’ Grant online via Student Finance England (SFE).

Childcare Grants are also managed by SFE, but you will need to complete and submit a paper application form.

You can also investigate all your funding options by visiting the 'Funding your Training' page on the Get into Teaching Website.
