Wellbeing

Our vision for wellbeing is ‘being well, staying well’, and for all stakeholders to value the importance of self-care and the development of resilience. As a partnership, we are aware and responsible, and proactive rather than reactive, on our approach to living well and teaching well. We are committed to supporting trainee teachers with the rigor and demands of the teaching profession and ensuring ‘excellence for all’.

We support the wellbeing of our trainees in many ways.

We operate an open door policy that allows all trainees and mentors to come forward and speak freely to any member of the SCITT team about any concern they may have in a safe and confidential setting.

Our SCITT team are fully trained Mental Health First Aiders and a member of the team is always available should support be needed.

“Whenever you are struggling or need extra help and guidance, the team are right there waiting for you. Throughout the whole year I felt like I had my own little personal team of cheerleaders. They genuinely care about each and every one of their students.”
