About Us

Training with the Fareham and Gosport Primary SCITT will give you a unique and high quality learning experience in the primary 5 to 11 age phase.

We are an 'Outstanding Provider' with an enviable track record of proven excellence in training. We have created a distinctive programme of initial teacher training, working with some of the best senior leaders and class teachers in the area. We have an invested interest in supporting trainee teachers to become excellent practitioners. Whether you are a career changer, recent graduate or currently working in a school, you will benefit from high quality training, excellent personalised support and expert class teacher mentors.

We offer a high quality, school led route into achieving Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) through the provision of School Centred Initial Teacher Training. The one–year programme is full time, based at the Fareham and Gosport Primary SCITT, with the majority of time being spent working alongside an expert class based practitioner in a partner school.

The training programme is designed to support trainee teachers to achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS). On successful completion of the programme, trainee teachers will be recommended for QTS by Fareham and Gosport Primary SCITT and awarded PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate of Education) by our partner University.

i2i Teaching Partnership (accredited provider)

From September 2026, Fareham and Gosport Primary SCITT will operate under the i2i Teaching Partnership as the accredited provider.  This collaboration enhances the quality of teacher training provision and offers broader opportunities for our trainees across primary and secondary phases.
