SCITT tuition fees for 2019/2020 are £9,000 for non-salaried trainees. This is not in line with other local and national providers.as some are charging more.
There are a number of routes available in terms of how your training can be funded.
Most trainee teachers choose to pay their fees via the Student Loan Company, however if you are using private funding, your tuition fees will be invoiced.
School Direct Salaried
We offer a very limited number of salaried places throughout the year. School Direct salaried trainees are paid as unqualified teachers in line with the Department of Education guidelines – this is currently £17,208 (18/19). No further funding will be available in addition to your salary.
You can apply for loans and grants for your teacher training through the SLC (Student Loan Company) from the government who will pay the tuition fees to us on your behalf. Most students will not have to pay anything upfront. This will be administered by the Student Loans Company. Repayment of the loan will be based on future earnings and will only have to be repaid once you are earning in excess of £21,000 per annum.
You may be eligible for the following loans:
Tuition Fee Loans to cover the full cost of tuition fees
Maintenance Loans and grants to cover living costs
Grants for living costs to cover the cost of living expenses
Trainee teachers can also get extra support if they have children or adult dependents, a disability or a specific learning difficulty.
