SELECTION & INTERVIEW
We use a rigorous selection process designed to identify high quality applicants’ suitability to teach, in addition to ensuring that all entrants to the teaching profession have met the eligibility criteria set out by the Department of Education. Our selection process, interview procedures and background checks will ensure that all trainees have the appropriate intellectual and academic capabilities in addition to personal qualities, attitudes, ethics and values needed to meet the standards for Qualified Teacher Status (QTS).
In order to comply with equality legislation, and ensure equality of opportunity, the interview procedures will follow an established, consistent pattern and organisation. Every opportunity will be given for trainee teachers to identify any special arrangements that they may require in order to ensure equality of opportunity and avoid discrimination, (2010 Equality Act & 2001 Special Educational Needs and Disability Act (SENDA)).
Confirmation of identity
All applicants will be required to show 2 forms of documentation to verify their identity at the Interaction and Interview day. This could include your passport, driving licence or birth certificate. In addition all relevant paperwork pertaining to visa/permit status declared on the application form must also be presented.
Interviews will not proceed unless all these documents are presented at the start of the interview process.
